Letting them use their hands to knead dough, work with clay, wood, yarn, fabric, paper and other materials is so important for them and should be emphasized instead of marginalized in schools. My nephew and niece (5 and 7) love to craft. Whenever I sit with them and we draw, cut, crochet, there is not only the joy of spending quality time with them, I also love to see how they lighten up when learning to do something new with their hands.
