Toying with Knitting Machine Construction



My father has always lamented the demise of Meccano construction sets, saying they were a better toy than the Lego sets that have nearly supplanted them because they actually took some effort and a kid could really learn something about construction from them. Here, perhaps proving him right, is a video showing a Meccano knitting machine in action. You can compare it to the Lego knitting machine I posted about in May 2013.

Go Agnes Go



Agnes Roboknit is a humanoid robot, created by Andy Noyes, that can operate a circular knitting loom. In this timelapse video, Agnes is shown making a scarf and coming across as a creepy mix of knitting machine and loving hands at home.
